Congressman Tim Walz has received the National Leadership Award granted by the National Association of Development Organizations for his support of federal policies and programs promoting economic development in small cities and rural areas. In presenting the award at its conference in Arlington, Va., NADO officials cited Walz’s support of programs that provide seed capital and gap financing for small businesses in rural areas and his support for workforce development programs and transportation funding. The award is presented annually to a member of Congress judged to be a significant contributor to regional economic development and job creation in rural areas. |
